Applicable(?) Aphorisms #21

"Speak only that which is true, pleasant, and beneficial." (Hinduism, Mahabharata 5:167)

True, false, good, bad, useful, not so useful, etc.? Discuss.

My thoughts:

Hard disagree.

The "true" and "beneficial" elements are redundant -- you're always better off saying, and knowing, the truth.

But that's not always pleasant, and sometimes the truth is more important than making yourself, or others, feel good.
